How to use HP 6000 Series Switches in a network

First of all you need to determine what speed you want. To decide on speed, you need to find out if the computer is capable of going at GB speed and if so then HP 6000 Series Switch is perfect.
You need to determine the number of ports and any advanced features you need for the switch (More the number of ports, more the computers can be connected for networking).

Configure your HP 6000 Series Switch using IP address (found in switch manual) Now configure VLANs and decide which path you want for VLAN lastly configure this switch. Connect a console cable from linkup port and connect Ethernet cables from the computer to the HP 6000 Series Switch HP 6120 Series Switches, HP 6200 Series Switches, HP 6410 Series Switches, HP 6600 Series Switches.

If you need multiple VLANs, then make sure the computers are on correct VLAN. If necessary, hard code the settings( log into the switch and hard code the settings).
